Good and Plenty…

Abundance mentality is one of my guiding ELAN Principles. It does not mean to seek greedy gains, but rather to celebrate gifts that are freely given and to respond in kind. It is the opposite of the fear-based view of scarcity urging you to hoard that which you deem finite. Pay attention. Look for gifts like a flowering weed peeking out of a concrete crack or even a free latte. This world overflows with joy and beauty and generosity. Give thanks – out loud, even if no other ears hear. Smile freely, especially to strangers. Release your tight grip on your gifts and goodness.

On the flip side, ask for help. Here’s the truth: people feel honored when you seek their assistance or guidance. Give them the gift of receiving their offers. Thank them, publicly if you can, then give in return. Offer your gifts to your world. Keep your eyes trained on the good things. Voice thanks for them. Open your hands to release whatever it is that you are clinging to and watch the world expand. Then open your arms to receive the good. Fear not, there is plenty to go around.
