Top Ten Reasons to Switch to my ConfessionsOfACreative Substack Site…

10. I’ll be phasing out this WordPress site.

9. You will continue to receive my essays about Writing, Wandering and Wondering. It’s easy, click here.

8. Subscribers will have free access to THE ART COLONY, my first novel, about a young artist who is struggling to make her way in 1970s Galveston where it is not all Peace, Love and Rock and Roll.

7. Where you will meet Mandy and her dog Fortune who follows her everywhere, including a night on the streets after a lost job leads to eviction.

6. And ride the roller coaster of Mandy’s life – soaring to the heights when she is selected for an experimental Art Colony and plunging to the depths of eking out a subsistent life while living in close quarters with unfriendly, even hostile, colony mates.

5. You might be drawn into Mandy’s crush on Grant, the photographer who has her fantasizing when she is not painting or surviving on garbage soup.

4. And maybe wonder and worry about a hidden room in which Mandy becomes trapped while helping the zoned out young poet Nevin.

3. Or slap your forehead when each bad decision plunges Mandy into deeper despair.

2. While laughing at Mandy’s sharp wit, cheering at her determination and crying when Fortune is in peril.

Drumroll please ~ THE NUMBER ONE REASON to subscribe to my Substack site is:

1. You will receive chapters of my first novel THE ART COLONY in your inbox or on the Substack app when you subscribe at no cost to you at confessionsofacreative.substack.com here.

    1. Thanks Debbie – two of the links on the post take you to the subscribe page (at least from my laptop) – the one that spells out the title of my site takes you to the latest post. Let me know if you still have issues, or copy and paste this into your browser (a pain, I know). https://confessionsofacreative.substack.com/about
I appreciate you pointing out the missing or non-working link!

  2. Psttyz; YAY FOR YOU!!!! Can I also buy it on Amazon? I assume not, I assume this is a pre-launch publicity campaign. I’ll check. Way to go, Patty!!! Your Substack site is beautiful, such fine pictures, good content. Your top 10 list is well thought out and a great hook for TAC. I appreciate the absence of videos…I hate it when Substackers put up long blathering discussions. A bit of crisp writing that takes a minute to read instead of a 30-minute harangue is much appreciated. I have not “subscribed” to any substacks, but access them without subscription. I assume subscribing gives you some benefit, so I would like to do it for you, but to do it, one has to agree to the most godawful “privacy” terms I’ve ever seen anywhere. I’ll try to choke it down to give you some props.  Congratulations!!!!! Love & best wishes, Tom

    1. Tom, Thank you as always for your continued support and encouragement – for now, I am releasing TAC into the world, free and clear! I hope you will subscribe so you will be getting Friday chapter posts for the next several weeks. You have already read The Art Colony, although this is an updated draft (several times) as you can imagine!
