In last Wednesday’s Substack post I mentioned the 10 ELAN Principles by which I strive to live. ELAN was a self-development course I created and facilitated a few years ago, hopefully to the benefit of all who participated. These principles have since informed my life and these posts:
1. Honor a Higher Power = Love God by whichever name you choose.
2. Respect Others = Love others, ALL others.
3. Love Yourself = Take care of all aspects of the you who walks this earth.
4. Cast a Wide Net = Look for, love and learn from many experiences.
5. Practice Abundance = Love (and give) freely and it will return with abundance.
6. Make Things Happen = Love yourself enough to be proactive, taking steps to foster Intentional Serendipity.
7. Observe Your World = Pay attention to all the love and beauty that surrounds you and watch it increase.
8. Be a Good Steward = Love the world in which you live, take care of every gift it bestows.
9. Watch Your Language = Be intentional about the words you use, both internally and aloud, making sure they build up and not break down (your inner self as well as others).
10. Be a Lifelong Learner = Perhaps the greatest gift you can offer to yourself, never stop learning new things and being amazed by them.
These have proven to be valuable touch points to notice, give thanks and watch the love grow.
