I have written and thrown out two drafts of this blog. I just wasn’t feeling it. Then I went to my NEW favorite museum, the Kimbell, to watch short documentaries about archeological discoveries in the Arkhaios Film Festival. What a joyous afternoon. 

While I miss my favorite haunts of Houston, the art of discovery in my new hometown fills that gap. Walking the grounds of the Kimbell brought memories of peaceful moments found at the Rothko Chapel. Taste-testing local restaurants and bars makes great date nights. Joining book clubs and cultural events reminds me of the bonds made in similar groups, knowing new connections will add to and not replace those I miss. Discovering new wonders feeds my soul. They are as close as my feet (or car) can carry me. Perfect weather days give me faith in the goodness and beauty of God’s world and help me lift the corner of the dark blanket of gloom that our current culture promotes as reality. May you look for the N E W, Never Ending Wonder. It abounds and is as close as your fingertips, eyes, ears, nose and tastebuds. May it, along with your feet and car, carry you through your days in new and joyous ways.
