One Step, Two Step…

Last week I went to the first ever Lit Crawl in my new hometown, even though that afternoon I just wasn’t feeling it. My reading chair was calling me ~ stay home and cozy up in me with your books, it said. I resisted because 99 percent of the times I’ve made myself step out to try something new, I’m glad I did. So I readied for a new adventure, energized by the possibilities of meeting like-minded souls in a very cool downtown venue. Picture a three-story bookstore from back in the day that has been transformed into a hip bar/cigar lounge/speakeasy. Sure enough, I met and connected with new people, creatives who gathered to share and appreciate art in the written and spoken form.

Chalk up another win for just do it! One of the principles by which I try to live is Make Things Happen. You know the life you desire. You also know what you need to do to make it happen. I have amazing writing groups, like-minded subsets, writing and traveling and reading opportunities because I’ve stepped out. One step, two step, three step, four. Take that action through the door into the world you believe is waiting for you. I’m 99 percent sure you won’t regret it.
