What floats your boat? Don’t you love that expression? It suggests a personal creative vessel that rides the waves of inspiration. Like water, inspiration can be peaceful or tumultuous. Sometimes we need some chill time, resting in a boat on a quiet stream. Letting the things of this world pass by without too much of our attention and concern is a good practice. But do you want to live there? Or is your boat seeking something outside of this mundane, everyday world?
Picking up the oar and changing the course toward your deepest desire is really hard work. It takes muscle. It takes diligence and practice. Every day. It takes courage. So much courage. Deeper, rougher waters are surely around the next bend in the river. Go Time will be no match for the practice and the learning and the muscle-building. The passion of your deepest desire will lift you and carry you closer to your goal. What is floating your boat?
