Go Ahead, Make Your Day…

Happy First Monday of 2023. What do you hope to accomplish today, this week, this year? Perhaps some lofty goal set in the fresh perspective of a new year already seems overwhelming. This is the time to honor that goal, lofty or not. Tend to it. Nurture it. Break it down to daily divots of dedication.

What small step can you take, first thing, every day, to lead to the grand finale of 2023? Think ahead 363 days from now. Imagine celebrating, not for the sake of blowing a noise maker, yelling Happy New Year and maybe kissing loved ones at midnight, but for the sake of all you did, created, made happen during the year. Future time looms large, seemingly infinite, yet we know that passed time compresses into a tight ball that whizzes by so fast we barely notice. Make each day stand out in the blur. Honor your dreams by taking one small step toward them. Do it again tomorrow. Make your day one of focused attention toward your deepest dream, just for a moment, first thing. Give it a try. Come December, may you be astonished by the beauty and joy you brought to the world, one day at a time.

Easter stands for rebirth and renewal, perfectly coinciding with the bright green promise of…
