Ten Things I Love About New York…

I recently took all kinds of chances (in the midst of a shutdown and wonky flight schedules) to put a drop in a virtual bucket list. One of my ongoing fantasies is to live and act like a local in Manhattan for a month or so. You gotta love the energy of a city that is home to 1/1000th of the world’s population. I wasn’t there for a month, just a few days, but I was filled just the same with gratitude for the 10 Things I Love About New York:

10. The trees in Washington Square Park

9. The clean public bathroom I found there

8. The crisp, clear autumn day (okay, that was a weather thing, but still)

7. The smell of weed pretty much everywhere that provided a memory romp to back in the day 😉

6. Buskers filling the parks with music, a bargain for a dollar or two

5. Macy’s on 34th, taking up an entire (big) city block

4. Walking, walking and walking, even feeling safe alone at night on well-lit streets

3. The Whitney – one of the museums I had not visited. Loved it!

2. The people. Yes, the people. Random strangers striking up interesting and polite conversation

1. The vibe that is uniquely and truly New York, New York
