Writers are jugglers; tossing and catching various balls, depending on where they are in the process. The minimum is two: generating new early drafts and reading. Most times, though, they are editing and revising other pieces, posting on social media to bump up their digital presence, and researching for a new or current project. I celebrate my friends who are also managing conversations with agents, editors and publishers while perhaps juggling travel arrangements for a book junket. One must balance creating the new and promoting the old. Creatives must create, in whatever form they choose, but so must they find ways to share the beautiful things they’ve made. I have a self-imposed revision deadline that will be demanding all my attention, so I will be stepping away from public posts for the next few weeks. I hope you will join me when I return.
