Freebies…

In the last week, friends have gifted me four books of very diverse topics, two in person and two via surprise mail, graciously adding to my toppling To Be Read stack which includes downloaded books from my library app and recent arrivals from my favorite indie bookstore. During this same week, preordered books by writer friends appeared on their publication dates. How cool is that? Raining books is a moment to celebrate, especially for writers who speed through the written world, hands off the handlebars.

As I sit in my dining room during this early morning writing session, I celebrate the gift of four lovely and functional chairs. A neighbor was moving and freely offered them days before a family reunion that had me gathering all manner of stools and benches for seating around our table. It was so timely, and unexpected. Pay attention to freebies that pop into your life. Perhaps they are not random, but rather a response to seeking, asking and giving freely of one’s own resources. Celebrate freebies for unexpected abundance or provision in a time of need. Notice them. Give thanks. Give back. Be prepared for the flow of give and take. It just might cause a filling rainfall, or should I say windfall?
