Train Your Mind…

I’ve been working on mind-tuning, turning toward joy and away from Doom and Gloom. I don’t need to list reasons why it seems an increasingly difficult task. No doubt you have your own G&D list that invades your imaginings of the worst that can happen in any given established system or way of life or cultural value.

I get to sit at my computer, sharing thoughts with unknown readers. My writing soundtrack energizes or lulls or ushers in a pensive mood or introduces a new artist who has a surprising way of stirring my heart. I notice a new bloom amidst dying branches that fell from a centuries old tree in a recent storm. I relish every laugh with a loved one, shed a thankful tear for those who’ve gone before. It’s a way of training my mind toward goodness even while pondering how to deal with a world bent on serving money and money and more money at the expense of treating all people equally, truly. See what I did there? I got it out. I feel better. I might just go bang the keys on the piano for an energetic and frenetic rendition of Fũr Elise. You know it, hum along while you tune your own mind toward joy.
