What drives you through each day until your head hits the pillow, at peace and ready for rest? What passion bounces you out of bed, eager to face a brand-new day of more, more? I can’t imagine doing anything other than writing for the bulk of my allotted hours. A few of those are spent writing these blog posts. Stringing words along a path that strives for encouragement or inspiration brings me great enjoyment. These blogs are like practicing scales on the piano, or warming up the vocal chords before a solo. On Monday we talked about sharing appreciation for written words. What about buskers who stand on corners with their guitar cases open, ready to receive a few coins of thanks from passersby? Why do they do it? Can they even buy a simple meal with their day’s winnings? They do it because they have something to say by way of voice and melody, sprinkling a bit of beauty about. How is your world improved by creatives who brave the slings and arrows of public opinion all because they must share their talents with the world? I hope you are thankful and never critical, lest those arrows point toward you as you do what you must.
