The Rhythm of Rest…

I hope you are deeply involved in a project that floats your boat, with excitement coursing through your veins as you anticipate the unknown steps on your chosen path. I am fortunate to have writing friends virtually join me in the ongoing quest to release written words into the reading world. We share encouragement, helpful hacks, and pebbles of our paths. I am writing this while in a silent zoom room filled with squares of moving and concentrated portraits. Although there is a “perfect attendance” drive to hang with them every weekday, I recognize the need to take a break. They will be there when I pop back in. How great is that? I am finding the rhythm to my work week, setting blocks of time aside for writing (all social devices off), interspersed with small chunks of a non-writing activity. New to this rhythm is a half day or so of unrelated, secondary play, discovering the pure joy of creating for no reason. The renewed energy feeds my body and soul for the real work to come. May you work hard at what drives you, play for pure joy and honor the need for rest.
