Our time on this earthly plane is no more than a blip on the radar of the circle of life. That sounds so depressing, but is it? If one’s life is reduced to a mere speck in the time, space continuum, what does that mean? I think it means we have been given a great gift — to value every moment, not in anticipation of the future or in comparison to the past. It reminds us to be fully present right now, in this moment. Now it is gone. Repeat. Wherever you are right now, cherish it. Petting you cat who loves to lap-nap? Give the warm connection your full attention. Chatting with a friend? Put thoughts of tasks to be done aside and give them the gift of active listening. Don’t agonize over the pile of laundry. It has no problem waiting. By all means, don’t mentally rehash past conversations or hurts. What a waste of this moment that would be. Imagine a whole life lived by embracing this tiny spot in time and space. In a blink it is gone, so do it again. Life is but a blip. Cherish it.
