Do you have those mornings when it seems a slow go? Maybe it is tempting to lounge in your reading chair for half a day. While I don’t engage in the time-sucking vortex of social surfing, some word puzzles can call to me like a Siren to Odysseus. What stops me from giving in? Maybe the fear of whittling away hours or even days doing only that. Mostly a desire to move forward. I have a lofty goal to publish novel number one and write novel number two. Sub-goals include posting this blog and polishing short stories and even tease an idea kernel for a third novel. Other than travel, friend and family time, music practice and yes, read, there is nothing I’d rather choose to fill my days. So, after a few moments of quiet coffee time, there is a need to get going. The simple act of standing up and saying, out loud, an energetic “Off I go!” will take me where I need to be. At least for today.
