Running Downhill…

Is week two of the new year too early to feel a loss of momentum from that wide-open-to-every-possibility optimism we held last Monday? When we told the world we would go ahead and make our own day by honoring that which matters to our creative selves? Even though I’ve made great strides in preparing novel number one for beta reads and queries, I’ve lagged a bit in my attending to novel number two. Such is life, needing to focus on one thing at a time. While greasing the squeaky wheel, the other three get wobbly. I’m not worried. I know all about momentum, how spending the energy to get back where you started, even if it seems an uphill trudge, creates new energy for the downhill run.

Imagine planting your tennie-clad feet atop a verdant mound of fresh grass and tiny flowers. Last week’s words of encouragement will get you right there. Then all you have to do is take that first step, momentum building as you run downhill. Go ahead, let out a Wheeee as you pick up speed and enthusiasm. Honoring your creative intention can be a rollicking good time!
