EOY Countdown…

Happy Last Monday of 2022. It is time to celebrate small things, which through the power of dedicated and daily moments have grown to mighty accomplishments at the crescendo of year’s end.

This is a sneaky way to talk about goals and (gasp) dreaded resolutions. (I have only ever kept one resolution and that was to never make another one). Whatever you call them, remember that big changes happen in regular bits rather than spectacular, rare feats of amazing courage or strength. Let’s count all accomplishments as fantastic and wonderful: going for walks, writing scenes, learning to play Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring on the guitar, or making a connection with a new friend. For 365 days, you have placed one foot in front of the other on a road you chose, based on a kernel of an idea that drove you forward. May you take time this week to celebrate that. Dream. Imagine. Plant a new kernel in your creative brain. Recognize the power of that first desire, tended to and nurtured in small bits every day of 2023. Watch what happens. May your new year be filled with excitement of a creative project, beauty of music and art, love of friends and family and downright joy to be living one day at a time!
